MCP server
Scoutie for every AI agent you use
One endpoint turns Scoutie into a tool your agents can use. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex what to work on next, get the full brief, do the work, and mark it done — without opening the dashboard.
https://www.scoutie.so/mcpConnect
You need a Scoutie account with your website added. Every app below signs in with your Scoutie account, so all you paste is the server URL.
Claudeclaude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile
- Open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Scoutie, paste the server URL, and click Continue, then Add.
- Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow.
- In a chat, open + → Connectors and turn Scoutie on.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors; everyone then clicks Connect and signs in with their own Scoutie account.
ChatGPTPro, Business, Enterprise and Edu
- Open Plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Scoutie, paste the server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Tick I understand and want to continue, click Create as a plugin, and install it.
- Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow. Then type @Scoutie in any chat.
On Business plans an admin creates the plugin. ChatGPT Pro connects custom servers read-only, so it can read your opportunities but not mark them done.
Geminigemini.google.com, personal accounts in the US
- On gemini.google.com, open Settings → Connected Apps.
- Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app, paste the server URL and click Next.
- Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow. It then works in the Gemini mobile app too.
Using Gemini CLI? Run this, then /mcp auth scoutie:
gemini mcp add --transport http scoutie https://www.scoutie.so/mcpClaude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user scoutie https://www.scoutie.so/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code, pick scoutie and choose Authenticate. Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow.
Drop --scope user to add it to the current project only.
CodexCLI, IDE extension and app
codex mcp add scoutie --url https://www.scoutie.so/mcpCodex opens the browser to sign in straight away. Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow. If you need to sign in again later, run codex mcp login scoutie.
The CLI, the IDE extension and the Codex app share one config, so adding it once is enough.
Cursor
Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json yourself:
{
"mcpServers": {
"scoutie": {
"url": "https://www.scoutie.so/mcp"
}
}
}The first time Cursor uses Scoutie, it asks you to sign in. Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow.
VS CodeGitHub Copilot agent mode
Or add it to .vscode/mcp.json in your project:
{
"servers": {
"scoutie": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://www.scoutie.so/mcp"
}
}
}Start the server when VS Code offers to, and sign in when it asks. Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow.
Windsurfnow Devin Desktop
In the Cascade panel, open … → Open MCP config file and add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"scoutie": {
"serverUrl": "https://www.scoutie.so/mcp"
}
}
}Sign in when it asks. Sign in to Scoutie when asked and click Allow.
Any other MCP client
Give it the server URL. Clients that support MCP sign-in (OAuth) find everything else on their own. For tools that can't sign in — automation platforms, your own scripts — create an API key in Settings → AI agents and send it as a header:
{
"mcpServers": {
"scoutie": {
"url": "https://www.scoutie.so/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}The same works in Claude Code (--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY") and in Claude's Request headers. ChatGPT only supports signing in.
What your agent can do
get_workspaceWorkspace overviewYour site, business, competitors, connected Google data, and how many opportunities are open.
list_opportunitiesList opportunitiesYour opportunities, most important first. Filter by status, type, priority, tag, competitor or words.
get_opportunityGet an opportunityThe full card: why it matters, the evidence, and a ready-made prompt to do the work.
update_opportunityMark done or rejectedMark a card done, reject it (with a reason we learn from), or open it again.
list_competitorsList competitorsThe competitors we watch, what they have, and what's new this week.
get_competitor_updatesRecent competitor activityNew blog posts, tools, features and changelog entries, newest first.
Each opportunity comes with the same ready-made prompt as on your board: the brief, the pages involved and what to deliver. Coding agents can build a free tool or fix titles right in your repo; chat assistants can write the post.
Things to ask
“What should I work on this week? Use Scoutie.”
Any chat“What did my competitors publish in the last 7 days, and what should I do about it?”
Any chat“Write the post for my top content opportunity in Scoutie, then mark it done.”
Claude, ChatGPT“Take the top free-tool opportunity from Scoutie and build it in this repo.”
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor“Fix every open titles & snippets opportunity from Scoutie, then mark each one done.”
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor“Reject the Webflow integration card: we don't sell to agencies.”
Any chat
Access and security
- An agent sees only your workspace: your opportunities and what your competitors publish.
- It can mark opportunities done or rejected. It can't change your settings, competitors or Google connections, and never sees your Google data access.
- Apps sign in with OAuth 2.1. Their access lasts an hour and renews on its own until you disconnect them.
- API keys are shown once. We keep only a fingerprint, so we can't show a lost key again — create a new one.
- See every connected app and key in Settings → AI agents. Disconnecting takes effect right away.
Troubleshooting
- The app says it can't connect
- Check that the URL is exactly
https://www.scoutie.so/mcp, then remove the connector and add it again. - I signed in but was sent to set up a website
- Agents work with your website's opportunities, so add it first. Then connect the app again.
- The agent finds no opportunities
- Your first analysis takes a few minutes after you add your website. Ask again once your board shows cards.
- It worked, then stopped
- The app was disconnected in Settings, or its sign-in expired. Sign in again:
/mcpin Claude Code,codex mcp login scoutiein Codex, or reconnect the connector in Claude and ChatGPT.
